What is the SEVIS fee (I-901 Fee and how do I pay it?
SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information Service) is a database in which all foreign students in the USA must be registered. This enrollment in the American university system is subject to a fee and must be paid BEFORE your appointment at the embassy, you must take the receipt with you to your appointment at the embassy.
You pay the fee of currently 350$ on this website.
- Click on the PAY I-901 FEE at the top
- Enter your home address and click on SUBMIT
- You can leave the County field blank
- You will find the school code on the I-20. If the school code does not fit in the fields provided, please enter 5 numbers in the field after the 214F instead of 4.
- Complete payment by entering your credit card details.
- Print out the receipt and take it with you to the embassy
