What do I need to know about the TOEFL Home Edition?

To take the TOEFL at home, you will need:
  • A room where you will not be disturbed
  • A stable internet connection
  • A place to sit, not on a bed or sofa, but at a table
  • A PC or laptop (Win or Mac) - no tablet 
  • A webcam with microphone
  • Loudspeakers, headphones are not allowed
  • Your ID card
  • A small hand mirror or your cell phone to show the room
  • Acceptable material for taking notes, e.g. a whiteboard that can be erased in front of the examiner's eyes

Just before the test, click on the link in your email under "Start my test". After that your proctor will contact you and enter the password you need for the test. You will not receive it before
You will be observed during the entire test. Therefore, follow the instructions carefully so that the test is not canceled and you have to repeat it for the same registration fee.
